That's right.
I've done it.
I can't BELIEVE I've done it, but it's true.
No matter how HARD I TRIED NOT to, I was unable to stop myself.
After seeing what Mark is doing with his CHAMBERS - especially the chrome and re-porcelain work - I found myself unable to help myself.
It's ridiculous, but true.
I've gone and done it - I've gone and bought a CHAMBERS 61C that I am going to bring home, disassemble, and restore for my daughter as a graduation gift.
What is WRONG with me?

Too much oatmeal in you diet lately is my guess.
Condolences, Todd. The lure of the Prince of Porcelain is strong, and you are weak. You are human. We still love you.

I know, I know...
Here's a pic of it:

It's in pretty good shape, with the following exceptions:
1. The oven door won't open all the way.
2. The timer needs to be repaired.
3. The whole thing needs cleaning.
4. There is on;y one chip in the porcelain: on the very top on the left.
That said, it's best to restore "Miss Hannah" for my daughter of the same name. That way, she'll have a "proper" stove for the rest of her life.
I really don't have it yet - but I told a guy in Tulsa I'll take it so he won't sell it to someone else. I'm hoping that I'll have enough coming back from my income tax refund to pay the $200.00 he's asking outright. If not, I think he'll let me pay it out...
This all YOUR fault, Mark!

Todd,
Congratulations, isn't it wonderful to have a 'new' love in your life.
Since oatmeal was mentioned I could not resist that siren call...so ...What about the safety valve? You didn't mention the with/without...V

It's chrome - dusty, so I'm not sure how scratched it is, but I didn't see any pits.
I also didn't have time to see if it had a safety system or not.

Congratualtions Todd! You go for it! It's time for the family to expand. Mark has got a lot of US on the total restoration thought and process. Sounds like a good thing to me and you'll have as much fun as the rest of US as you go along! Gonna do a pic thread too? Enjoy...Laura
